How Clio works
Clio fractionalises digital billboard airtime into slots that advertisers fund together. Each slot gives your brand a recurring place in the screen’s playback loop for the campaign dates.
Your share of the screen
You buy airtime, not ownership of the billboard. In the example below, five advertisers each have ten seconds in a fifty-second loop. Your creative plays, the other ads follow, then yours returns. The actual duration and rotation are set out in each Drop.
Taking part
- Choose a Drop
- Check the location, campaign dates, airtime allocation, price, and minimum number of advertisers.
- Apply with your creative
- Send your brand details and artwork for review. Clio’s approval comes before you can fund a slot.
- Fund your slot
- After approval, deposit the exact slot price in USDC on Arc. Each wallet can fund one active slot per Drop.
- Wait for booking
- Once the minimum is funded and a binding booking is secured, Clio finalises the Drop. The campaign runs on its agreed dates.
Funding and booking
Funding shows how many advertisers have joined. Booking confirms the campaign can run. Select a stage to see what happens to the slots and deposits.
| Stage | Funded slots | Booking |
|---|---|---|
| 2 of 5 | Pending | |
| 3 of 5 | Pending | |
| 5 of 5 | Pending | |
| 3 or more | Secured |
The group is large enough. Booking is still required.
Clio can finalise once a binding booking is secured. The remaining slots can still be funded while the Drop is open and before its funding deadline.
Creative review
Each advertiser supplies the artwork for their own slot. Clio reviews it for the selected screen before accepting funding. Follow the Drop’s format and duration requirements, and allow time for review before the funding deadline.
Cancellations and refunds
Before finalisation, you can recover your full deposit from the smart contract if the Drop is cancelled, misses its funding minimum at the deadline, or is not finalised by its confirmation deadline. After finalisation, the agreed media booking terms apply.
Frequently asked questions
- What creative can I use?
- Prepare a JPG, PNG, WebP, or MP4 file up to 20 MB. The editor fits it to the billboard and lets you select up to ten seconds from a longer video.
- When is payment taken?
- Funding follows creative approval while a Drop is open. The current preview cannot submit a payment or move funds.
- What happens if the campaign does not proceed?
- Before finalisation, eligible deposits can be recovered if a Drop is cancelled, misses its minimum, or passes its booking deadline without finalisation.
- Where are my creative drafts stored?
- Preview drafts stay in the current browser session. Refreshing the page clears them, and no file is uploaded to Clio.
